|  This is a small pocket version of our laser directed infrared temperature monitor. Its is intended for much closer, more personal measurements and therefore does not have a laser pointer but like its big brother, this is a hand held instrument that can be put to an extremely diverse number of uses. You will be surprised just how many uses you will find for it and you will wonder how you ever managed without one! It will measure the temperature of anything within its operating range simply by being pointed at the object and pressing the "measure" button. For bodybuilders and athletes it can be used to measure skin/outer body temperature and other surface temperatures within a training environment but it can also be equally useful in the home or work environment to measure things as diverse as oven temperature or freezer temperature, again simply by being pointed at the designated surface and pressing the trigger without having to be potentially dangerously close to such extreme temperatures (note that this monitor has 2.1 spot ratio* and so requires the user to be fairly close for accurate measurement. For more remote measurement, our larger, laser targeted 12.1 spot ratio* monitor is recommended). An instant LCD readout in Centigrade or Fahrenheit, is shown which will hold steady when the "measure" button is released. The LCD readout backlight option ensures you can still read the output, even in very low ambient light. There is a small white light on the front of the unit which illuminates to show that it is measuring with its invisible infrared beam. When the button is released the unit beeps to indicate that measurement is complete and will now show on the LCD screen. For battery saving the unit has an auto power off function. When you have completed your measurements it will switch itself off automatically after a few seconds of inactivity. Please be aware that this unit does not store any previous measurement data when powered off.

Measurement Tips:
If the surface of an object is covered with frost, dust or other materials, clean the surface to get accurate measurement results. If the surface of an object to be measured is highly reflective with very low emissivity value apply masking tape to the surface to improve the accuracy. Note that the emissivity value can be adjusted - refer to the chart in the printed instructions.
